VANCOUVER - Aug 2/14 - STAT -- Canadian No 1 B-90 Type Chickpea markets finished the 2013-14 marketing year with prices offered to growers falling 16% below the recent three year average annual price offered to growers in that country.
The average price paid for No 1 B-90 Type Chickpea was CDN$448.65 per metric ton (MT), compared to an average annual bid of $533.24 during the latest three year period for farmers dressed merchandise delivered processing plants.
Analysis of the monthly bid pattern reveals growers the highest monthly average bid was $518.08 per MT in August, while the lowest monthly average bid level was $396.80 per MT in February.
