MELBOURNE - Jul 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure lies across northern New South Wales, while a series of cold fronts are moving from the Southern Ocean across southeast Australia. The passing of these fronts is generating gusty winds over southern and central parts of the state, but little rainfall due to the presence of a generally dry airmass. A stronger cold front is forecast to bring a significant cold snap at the end of the week, after which conditions should gradually ease as the next high pressure system becomes established.
