Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is moving slowly east. A low pressure trough over western NSW is expected to move slowly east today and Saturday, clearing the state later on Saturday. Another high pressure system will move over the state Sunday and Monday. The next major front is expected to cross the state next Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms from the central north of the state to the central ranges and coast, becoming more widespread during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers over the southern inland, more widespread on the western slopes of the ranges with snow on the Alps above 1500 metres. Fine in the northeast, on the south coast and thru much of the far west. Isolated early fog and frost patches in the east. North to northwesterly winds, freshening in the east during the day, particularly about the ranges, tending westerly in the west.Saturday 26 JulyPartly cloudy in the western half and on the south coast. Isolated showers in the remainder tending scattered in the northeastern inland. Snow on the Alps above 1400 metres. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Early fog and frost patches on the tablelands. Northwest to southwesterly winds, gusty about higher grounds.Sunday 27 JulyThe chance of snow showers on the southwestern Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges.. Southwesterly winds in the east, tending light and variable in the west.Monday 28 JulyMostly sunny throughout. Early frosts inland.
