Lentils Pleased by Tender Activity
VANCOUVER - Jul 18/14 - SNS -- North American lentil markets were little changed in relatively light trading interest during the past week.
Processors in the United States were pleased with the first tender for delivery in the 2014-15 marketing year. The USDA is seeking offers of 2,730 metric tons (MT) of lentils for shipment in September.
Last season saw a sharp drop in the quantity of lentils bought for shipment as PL-480 food aid from 34,530 in 2012-13 to just 17,880 MT.
