ST. JOSEPH - Jul 18/14 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jul 18.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grains closed mostly lower. Corn and soybean crops are seeing positive to ideal weather conditions across the Corn belt as Julys weather remains cool and pleasant. The percent of corn reaching the silking stage reached 34 percent this week surpassing the 5 year average. Overall the corn crop condition is at 76 percent of the corn acres rated good to excellent. Corn and soybeans are both expecting bumper crops with ending stocks expected to increase significantly. Weekly export sales for corn totaled 42.1 mb with 22.6 mb for 2013-2014 marketing year. Soybeans had weekly export sales of 22 mb with 1.4 mb for the 2013-2014 marketing year. Wheat had weekly export sales of 11.8 mb for the 2014-2015 marketing year. Wheat closed the week mixed. Corn traded 2 3/4-12 3/4 cents lower, with Sorghum 11-27 cents lower. Soybeans closed 58-68 cents lower. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 1 3/4 cents higher from 7.59-7.69 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 18-23 cents lower from 5.39-5.40 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 6 cents higher to 24 cents lower from 8.22-8.67 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was steady to 2 1/4 cents higher from 6.50 3/4-7.00 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 6-10 cents lower from 3.75- 3.88 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 11 3/4-12 3/4 cents lower from 3.79 1/2-3.81 1/2 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 8-10 cents lower from 3.63-3.66 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 6 3/4-8 3/4 cents lower from 3.64 1/2-3.91 1/2 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 2 3/4-3 3/4 cents lower from 3.68 1/2-3.71 1/2 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 8 1/4 cents lower at 3.59 1/2 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 1 cent higher from 3.77 1/4-3.87 1/4 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was 5 cents lower at 5.60 per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges- export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 18-27 cents lower from 6.74- 6.83 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 11-12 cents lower from 6.51-6.62 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 64 cents lower at 12.14 3/4 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 68 cents lower from 12.44 3/4-12.84 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 58 cents lower at 12.69 3/4 per bushel. Central Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 38.8-41.30 lower from 429.50- 430.50 per ton.
