Weaker Undertone in Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Jul 4/14 - SNS -- The world's dry edible bean markets finished the week on a weaker undertone against increased seeded area in the United States and improved optimism about Argentina's harvest.

Bean area in the U.S. ended up higher than farmers intended in March, with the USDA pegging the seeded area at 2.75 million acres. This is giving end users more confidence they will have more power in markets than has been the case.

Markets have not yet eased, but buyers feel more confident that they will be able to pay less for product in September, after the European summer holiday season.
