VANCOUVER - Jun 7/14 - SNS -- North American lentil markets registered a mixed performance during the past week against improved market participation by buyers and sellers.
Some demand was reported from the Indian subcontinent, reflecting speculative trading interest in anticipation of a below normal monsoon and a potential reduction in pigeon pea output.
Some millers and consumers are willing to substitute decorticated green lentils for pigeon pea, lending support to spot large green lentil values.
