Harvest Progress Weakens White Beans

VANCOUVER - May 25/14 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets maintained their weaker tone through the past week, though white bean markets are finding room to argue for quality premiums.

Initial harvest activity was reported in Argentina, with the main part of the harvest expected to wrap up around the middle of June.

Wet weather is delaying progress in the state of Cordoba. Farmers there grow some white alubia beans, as well as dark and light red kidney beans.
