MELBOURNE - Apr 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front approaching southwest Victoria will cross the State Thursday morning and early afternoon, affecting mainly southern Victoria. A high pressure system will rapidly follow - crossing the State Thursday night and reaching the Tasman Sea on Friday. Another cold front will cross the State on Saturday, then the next high pressure system will pass just to the south of Victoria late Sunday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Monday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from isolated clearing showers in the far east this evening. Light to moderate northwest to northerly winds.Thursday 24 AprilIsolated showers on and south of the ranges contracting to the east during the morning and clearing during the afternoon. Morning fog patches in the east. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh westerly wind shifting southwesterly during the morning then later easing.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Friday 25 AprilFine apart from morning fog patches. Early frosts, then a cool to mild and mostly sunny day although some patchy high cloud extending from the west during the afternoon. Light northerly winds becoming moderate to fresh over western and central districts during the afternoon and evening.Saturday 26 AprilScattered showers developing on and south of the ranges, isolated showers over the north. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwest to southerly.Sunday 27 AprilFine apart from isolated clearing showers in the far east.
