Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea extends a weak ridge to southeast Queensland while a weak trough lies on the NSW South Coast. A cold front will cross southern and central parts of the state during Thursday but no rain is expected with this system until isolated showers develop on the southern coast following the change. The front is expected to stall and weaken on the Mid North Coast on Friday as another high moves east into the Tasman Sea, isolated showers are expected for most eastern districts on Anzac day but fine in the west. Another cold front and prefrontal trough are expected to affect southern and central NSW on Saturday though only isolated showers are expected to be associated.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayThe chance of a shower or thunderstorm about the Mid North Coast and in the far southeast early this evening. Mostly clear elsewhere. Mostly northwest to northeasterly winds, strengthening about the far southern ranges.Thursday 24 AprilDry and mostly sunny until isolated showers develop about the south coast and adjacent ranges in the evening. Very warm day for the northern inland and central parts of the coast. Northwest to northeasterly winds, fresh to strong in the southeast, before a southwest to southerly change in the south, strong along the coast.Friday 25 AprilIsolated showers in most eastern districts, tending scattered along the central part of the coast and Mid North Coast. Generally fine in the far southeast and in the west. East to southeast winds tending northeasterly.Saturday 26 AprilIsolated showers on the far north coast early, and developing through southern, western and central parts during the day. Fine for most of the northeast. Northwest to northeasterly winds before a southwesterly change through western and southern parts, strong along the coast.Sunday 27 AprilIsolated showers coast and eastern ranges, more widespread in the north. Fine west of the ranges. Southeast to southerly winds, fresh along the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Thursday.Product IDN10031
