MELBOURNE - Apr 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge lies over South Australia. A cold front will move over coastal waters late Wednesday and early Thursday. A new high will quickly follow, moving eastwards over the State and then over the Tasman Sea by Friday night. A second cold front is expected to move across South Australia during Saturday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers developing about southern coasts and the far south of Eyre Peninsula from late afternoon. Possible early morning fog over eastern districts and the West Coast District. Possible early morning frost in the southeast. Mild, grading to warm in the far northeast. Mainly light winds in the north, tending moderate northwesterly over the southern agricultural area during the day.Thursday 24 AprilIsolated morning showers over the southern agricultural area, with possible isolated showers over remaining agricultural areas persisting through to the late afternoon. Early morning fog, mostly over Eyre Peninsula and the West Coast district. Generally mild, grading to warm in the far north. Mainly light winds.Friday 25 AprilCloud increasing from the west during the day. Possible isolated showers developing over the West Coast district during the afternoon, extending to Lower Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island in the evening. Early morning fog patches over agricultural areas. Mild to warm with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds.Saturday 26 AprilCloudy at first with possible isolated showers over much of the State, moving eastwards during the day and clearing to the east by late evening. Mild to warm. Light north to northwesterly winds turning light to moderate south to southeasterly during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning to midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 3 mm with isolated falls of 3 to 8 mm possible about southern coasts.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers developing over the North West Pastoral district on Sunday, extending over South Australia early next week.
