Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A fairly stationary high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge over southern Queensland as a weak cold front slips south of New South Wales today. Another weak cold front will pass to the south of the state on Thursday associated with a trough that will extend to the northeast of the state on Friday where it is expected to stall and weaken into the weekend. A high pressure system following the cold front and associated trough will move over the Tasman Sea into the weekend resulting in a south to southeasterly wind change over the southern half of the state.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPartly cloudy. Northwest to northeasterly winds, turning south to southwesterly in the far south.Wednesday 23 AprilPartly cloudy with isolated showers in the far southeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Warm day for the northwest. Northwest to northeasterly winds, south to southwesterly in the far south.Thursday 24 AprilIsolated showers about the southern coastal districts and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Warm day in the north, particularly west of the ranges. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the north, and southerly winds through the remainder.Friday 25 AprilIsolated showers in the east, tending scattered along the central coastal districts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to southeast winds tending north to northeast in the far northeast.Saturday 26 AprilA chance of isolated showers about much of the state, mainly in the far northeast.
