MELBOURNE - Apr 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system extends over the Tasman Sea continuing fine weather across the state today and into much of tomorrow. A weak trough is expected to enter the state's southwest later on Tuesday before stalling over central parts on Wednesday. The trough is expected to become mobile again on Thursday, moving to the northeast with the assistance of a cold front passing to the south. Behind this, a new ridge appears likely to become the dominant feature as it extends across from the west towards the end of the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine. Light and variable winds tending moderate northerly in the far west and along the coast.Tuesday 22 AprilFine apart from the chance of showers in the far southeast later in the day. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Patchy fog early in the morning about the ranges and far north coast. Northwest to northeasterly winds, turning southwesterly in the southwest later.Wednesday 23 AprilPartly cloudy with isolated showers in the far southeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Warm day for the northwest. Northwest to northeasterly winds, before a weak southerly change in the west and south.Thursday 24 AprilIsolated showers about the southern coastal districts and adjacent ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Warm day in the north, particularly west of the ranges. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the north, and southerly winds through the remainder.Friday 25 AprilIsolated showers on and east of the ranges, tending scattered along the central coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.
