MELBOURNE - Apr 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A decaying cold front is moving along the northern New South Wales coast this morning, while a high pressure system near Adelaide extends a ridge into the state's west. This ridge will remain the dominant feature in the region through the next few days, briefly interrupted by a fairly weak trough moving through on Sunday. The extended outlook suggests the next frontal system is likely mid-week, but very little rainfall is expected due to the generally dry state of the atmosphere. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from the chance of morning showers on the far south coast, and in the vicinity of Port Stephens. Early fog patches, mainly about the tablelands, otherwise mostly sunny. South to southwesterly winds, fresh along much of the coast.Sunday 20 AprilFine apart from the chance of showers along the coastal fringe in the far north. Early frost patches about the tablelands. Mostly sunny. West to southwesterly winds, becoming light and variable in the west, and tending northeasterly along the northern coast in the afternoon.Monday 21 AprilFine apart from the chance of showers along the coastal fringe in the south. Early frost patches about the tablelands. Mostly sunny. Light and variable winds inland, tending northeast to southeasterly near the coast.Tuesday 22 AprilFine apart from isolated showers near the Victorian border.
