MELBOURNE - Apr 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front over far eastern Victoria will clear the State this evening. A high pressure system over the Bight will be centred near Adelaide tonight then will move across southern NSW during the weekend. Another cold front will move across Bass Strait on Sunday with a further front reaching far western Victoria late on Monday. This front will cross the remainder of the State on Tuesday as the next high pressure system develops over the Bight. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers in the south and east tonight. Fresh southwesterly winds gradually easing inland.Saturday 19 AprilIsolated early morning fog patches. Partly cloudy day over southern districts with isolated showers contracting to the coast by evening. Fine and mostly sunny over the north, although patchy cloud developing during the afternoon. Generally cool with a light to moderate west to southwesterly wind.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Sunday 20 AprilMorning fog patches, mainly over the northeast. Scattered showers about the west coast and south Gippsland coast with isolated showers developing about adjacent land areas. Fine elsewhere. A cool and partly cloudy day with light winds inland and moderate westerlies developing near the coast.Monday 21 AprilIsolated showers extending through western and central districts but fine over the far north and east. Cool and partly cloudy with freshening northerly winds.Tuesday 22 AprilScattered showers, mainly over southern and mountain districts contracting eastwards.
