Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 17/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak surface trough extends from the Gulf Country down to the Central Highlands region. A high pressure system over South Australia is pushing dry air across Queensland's interior.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine and sunny across most of the state with just the chance of some isolated showers about the eastern districts north of Rockhampton, and mainly isolated showers and storms over the state's far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 19 AprilThe high should settle over southeast Australia and keep most of Queensland fine and sunny except for some isolated showers about the tropical coast and some isolated showers and storms about the state's far north, mostly near the Gulf of Carpentaria coast.Sunday 20 AprilThe high over southeast Australia should maintain fine and mostly sunny conditions across Queensland except for some isolated showers and storms about the northern tropics.Monday 21 AprilThe high should move into the Tasman Sea on Monday but should still maintain fine and mostly sunny conditions across most of Queensland. Scattered showers and isolated storms over the Peninsula and Gulf Country districts, and showers becoming more frequent about the state's northeast coast as a weak upper trough moves over the region and the onshore flow becomes more humid.Tuesday until ThursdayShowers increasing about the North Tropical Coast as an onshore flow increases. Showers and storms also becoming more widespread about the Gulf Country and over the Peninsula District as a trough develops over the Gulf of Carpentaria.
