U.S. Chickpea Area To Rise 1%
WASHINGTON - Mar 31/14 - SNS -- Farmers in the United States intend to plant 1% more chickpeas than last year, according to the USDA's seeding intentions estimates for 2014.
Expected area planted for all chickpeas is 217,800 acres. Small chickpea area, at 69,400 acres, is 54% higher than 2013. Large chickpea area, at 148,400 acres, is expected to be 13% below last year.
