Logistics Keeps Lentils Slow

VANCOUVER - Mar 28/14 - SNS -- North American lentil markets were little changed against relatively light export trading activity.

Processors in both countries have been hamstrung by logistical problems for much of the past three months, making them reluctant to take on the risk of new business.

This is not to say product is not moving. The Canadian Grain Commission reported 5,900 metric tons (MT) of lentils were loaded to bulk ships from Vancouver during the week ending March 17, lifting bulk exports for the marketing year to 195,800 MT.
