India Weather Gives Chickpeas Pause

VANCOUVER - Feb 28/14 - SNS -- Reports of heavy rains and hail in parts of the rabi season pulse growing area in India left chickpea markets on a nervous footing at week's end.

Not surprisingly, there was no agreement among India's exporters about the extent of damage to crops.

This is consistent with industry estimates of the size of this year's rabi season pulse crops in the country.
