Beans Unchanged to Easier

VANCOUVER - Feb 15/14 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets were unchanged to somewhat easier in relatively light trading interest during the past week.

This was reflected in the spot market index for U.S. beans, which was down 1.09 points at 165.81. The index was reformulated to better reflect the current mix of beans of grown in the United States and the base price switched from 1990 to 2004.

The change makes the index consistent with STAT Publishing's other indices. These include a special crop price index for Canada. The latest is the world price index for pulses, which will be unveiled at the upcoming Global Pulses Conclave in India.
