Nervous Undertone in Chickpeas

VANCOUVER - Jan 11/14 - SNS -- The world's chickpea markets finished the week's trading on a nervous note against expectations of a significant increase in output in India and a potential increase in Mexico.

India's exporters have been discounting new crop kabuli chickpeas to spot markets, bolstering the view that output will be up significantly over last year.

Market sentiment was not helped by news rabi or winter seeding progress has lifted well ahead of last year.
