Few Changes in Chickpeas

VANCOUVER - Sep 14/13 - SNS -- International chickpea markets finished the week's trading little changed with offers from origin sellers not pulling much ahead of the needs of end users.

Little attention was paid the latest weekly crop update from Saskatchewan Agriculture. It adopted a more pessimistic view of that province's yield potential than Statistics Canada's August crop estimate.

In August, yields were expected to average 1,473 pounds per acre, down from 1,779 pounds last year and the recent five-year average of 1,538 pounds.
