U.S. Barley Stocks Up 30%
WASHINGTON - Jun 30/09 - SNS -- Barley stocks in all positions in the United States on June 1, 2009 totaled 88.6 million bushels, up 30% from June 1, 2008, according to the USDA.
On-farm stocks are estimated at 27.0 million bushels, 171% above a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 61.6 million bushels, are 6% above June 1, 2008.
The March - May 2009 indicated disappearance is 40.5 million bushels, 4% below the same period a year earlier.
