Sugar Stocks Building in U.S.WASHINGTON - Apr 9/09 - SNS -- Sugar stocks are rising more rapidly than anticipated, with the result the U.S.faces a substantial increase in ending stocks, according to the latest forecasts from the USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board. Projected 2008-09 U.S. sugar supply is increased 274,000 short tons, raw value, from last month, mainly due to increased imports. Production changes were largely offsetting. Beet sugar production is increased on processors= indications of an early start to the 2009-crop harvest in September.
