Chickpeas Mostly UnchangedVANCOUVER - Jun 27/08 - SNS -- International chickpea markets finished the week mostly unchanged in limited trading interest. Markets were not surprised by the seeded area estimates for Canada, which revealed growers slashed area from 430,000 to 210,000 acres because of a relatively poor price and sales performance during most of the current marketing campaign. Monday's USDA seeded area estimates are not expected to include a break down of dry edible bean plantings by class, which means markets will have to wait until August for the official view of acreage in the United States.
