Mixed Week For North American PeasVANCOUVER - Jun 20/08 - SNS -- Field pea markets maintained their recent tendencies, with markets mostly unchanged in the United States, while easing in Canada in the face of light buying interest. The latest USDA PL-480 food aid tender sought a modest quantity of field peas for shipment from origin during the final month of the 2007-08 marketing year, requesting offers of 1,970 metric tons (MT) of whole yellow and 580 MT of whole green peas. This lifts the total quantity of yellow peas bought or under tender by the USDA to 82,090 MT for shipment from origin during the 2007-08 marketing year, down from 90,140 MT last season. Green pea actual and potential purchases total 16,110 MT, down from 26,760 MT last season. Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
