Australia -- Queensland Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Dec 9/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY A flood warning is current for the Weir River. STATE FORECAST for the rest of Wednesday and Thursday Scattered showers and thunderstorms over most northern and eastern districts. Isolated showers or thunderstorms also developing western border areas late today and extending east on Thursday. Hot days over the interior. Mostly light to moderate SE to NE winds. EXTENDED OUTLOOK The central Australian trough will move slowly across western Queensland during Thursday and Friday, then stagnate over the interior for the weekend. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in most areas east of the trough for the next few days with dry weather to the west.
