Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Dec 9/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. For Wednesday WARNINGS: A Fire Weather Warning has been issued for Very High to Extreme fire danger in the Riverina and Lower Western districts. A Total Fire Ban is in force for these districts until midnight Wednesday. Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters south of Pt. Kembla. STATE FORECAST Isolated late showers and thunderstorms over the southwestern half and the northern ranges, slopes and plains today with isolated showers on the far north coast. Tomorrow the far northeast corner will remain dry and it will clear from southwestern parts, with isolated showers and thunderstorms over the remainder, chiefly in the afternoon and evening. Light to moderate northwest to northeast winds, becoming fresh and gusty in the southern and western inland today and strengthening on the south coast today and the north coast tomorrow, ahead of a west to southwest change which will extend over the southwestern half during Thursday. Hot to very hot today becoming very warm to hot tomorrow. Areas of raised dust likely in western parts today. This forecast is issued daily at 05.15, 1120 and 16.30.
