India Expects 16.3 Million Bale Cotton CropNEW DELHI - Dec 9/03 - SNS -- India's cotton harvest is now expected to reach 16.3 million bales for the 2003-04 season on account of better than expected crop yields in northern and central regions. The strong pace of market arrivals in these regions corroborates the expectation for higher crop production. Market arrivals through November 22, 2003, have reportedly reached 3.2 million bales, as compared to 1.7 million bales for the corresponding period last season.
