Russian Sugar Output Down 14%KIEV - Dec 9/03 - APK -- According to raw sugar processing data as of December 1, 2003, Russian sugar refinery plants processed 3,788,300 metric tons (MT) of imported cane-origin product (as of the same date in 2002 - 4.393 million MT), of which they produced 3,693,200 MT of white sugar (in 2002 - 4.285 million MT). The data analysis, performed by sugar industry association "Soyuzrossakhar", has shown that white sugar yield in processing of raw sugar since the start of the year has averaged 97.31% (in 2002 - 97.33%), sugar losses in processing - 0.55% (in 2002 - 0.54%), sugar content in molasses - 0.72% (in 2002 - 0.71%).
