Avian Influenza Reappears in China, Thailand
WASHINGTON - Jul 7/04 - SNS -- New cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been reported in China and Thailand this week, the first cases in several months in both countries.
China has confirmed an instance of H5N1 was discovered on a poultry farm in The case in China was discovered on a poultry farm in the Juchao District of Chaohu City in Anhui province. In Thailand, a case was discovered on a farm in Ayutthaya province, 50 kilometers north of Bangkok.
Both countries have taken steps to isolate the farms and eradicate the flocks.
