U.S. Hay Area Down 3%WASHINGTON - Jun 30/04 - SNS -- Producers in the United States expect to harvest 61.6 million acres of all hay in 2004, 3% below 2003, according to today's USDA seeded area estimates. Harvested area of alfalfa and alfalfa mixtures are forecast at 22.2 million acres, down 6% from last year. All other hay harvested area is expected to total 39.4 million acres, down 1%.
