Canadian Egg Output UpOTTAWA - Jul 6/01 - STAT -- Canadian egg production advanced 2.6% from year earlier levels, according to preliminary production data from Statistics Canada. Output in May was pegged at 47,804,000 dozen eggs, up from 46,545,000 dozen last year. Year to date output climbed from 227,544,000 dozen last year to 233,108,000 so far this year. Growth in egg production is slower than was the case during the previous two years. Total egg production last year was up 5.07% from 1999 at 549,711,000 dozen eggs; while 1999 posted a 4.87% jump over the previous year's 498,846,000 dozen eggs.
