Monsanto Buys Limagrain Canada SeedsWINNIPEG - Jul 5/01 - STAT -- Limagrain Genetics sold its canola breeding company, Limagrain Canada Seeds, to Monsanto Canada for an undisclosed amount of money. Monsanto had been a minority shareholder in the Saskatchewan-based company since 1997. Limagrain Canada Seeds' assets include canola germplasm, license agreements, a canola breeding program, and current and future varieties. Limagrain Genetics will concentrate on research, development and marketing of its corn and soybean varieties under the Pride brand.
