India Expects Few Seed ShortagesNEW DELHI - Jun 22/04 - SNS -- India does not expect any shortfalls of certified and/or quality planting seed for this year's summer or kharif season crops. Supplies of most categories of pulses and oilseeds are adequate to meet the seed needs of the country's farmers, but some shortfalls of groundnut and arhar are expected in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh on account of deficient rains in the previous year, India's agriculture department said.
