Chile' Tomato Paste Shippers Limited SalesSANTIAGO - Jun 21/04 - SNS -- Tomato paste exporters in Chile consciously limited export sales during the last quarter of 2003 in an effort to take advantage of anticipated price increase in the Mediterranean market on account of a short Italian crop in 2003. Production in Italy was badly affected by abnormally dry conditions during the last growing season and consequently, export prices increased 12% during January through March, 2004, when compared to the same period the year before, according to a report from the U.S. agricultural attache here.
