Italy Looking for Record Tomato HarvestROME - Jun 21/04 - SNS -- Tomato production in Italy is expected to rebound from last year's reduced harvest, with the industry looking for a record 6.57 million metric ton (MT) crop across the 2004-05 production season. Good climatic conditions, including rain and cool temperatures in April and May, and low stocks resulting from two previous unfavorable campaigns are expected to boost planted acreage and production in the next campaign, says the U.S. agricultural attache here.
