Lussier Wins CCA of Year AwardEDMONTON - Jun 17/04 - SNS -- The Canadian Fertilizer Institute (CFI) has awarded Richard Lussier, an Agronomic Crop Enhancement (ACE) Specialist with Agricore United, the 2003 Prairie Provinces Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) of the Year award. Lussier has been a CCA since 1997, working out of Grande Prairie, Alberta. His areas of interest include optimization of forage seed production, development of now-standard techniques that better predict and manage potential problems with herbicide residues, and generally maintaining a strong network among researchers, agronomists, and growers so that all parties benefit from a constant exchange of information. Richard obtained his B.Sc. in Soil Science and Agronomy (1989) and his M.Sc. in Soil Science (1994) from the University of Alberta. The CCA program is a professional certification that is designed to build the skills of individuals working in the crop production, fertilizer, soil conservation and pest management industry through continuing education. Administered by provincial, state, and regional boards across North America, there are approximately 1,300 CCAs in Canada and close to 14,000 certified internationally.
