India Deems Pulses 'High Risk' Food ItemNEW DELHI - Jun 16/04 - SNS -- Pulses and pulse products are among several products which are deemed "high risk" food items and which will be subject to 100% sampling under India's 1954 Prevention of Food Adulteration Act. The Commerce Ministry list includes any form of edible oils and fats, pulses and pulses products, cereals and cereal products, milk powders, condensed milks, infant milk powder, milk cereal base weaning foods, infant formula, food colors, food additives, natural mineral water, packaged drinking water, tea, coffee and cocoa butter equivalents or substitutes.
