   MICHIGAN---Shipments 4-4-4---Movement expected to remain about the same.
Trading moderate.  Prices lower.  28 pound pyramid cartons/crates standard and
large size bunched all-green mostly 30.00-32.00  Quality good.  The processing
cash price agreed upon by many processors and the Michigan Asparagus Growers
Division of the Michigan Farm Bureau is 62 cents for spears with a maximum
length of 7.5 inches and 5/16 inch in diameter.  Total-to-date through May 22nd
processed nearly 10.2 million pounds combined frozen and canned.  Last season
total 10.5 million pounds.
