U.S. Bean Seeding Nears NormalWASHINGTON - Jun 14/04 - SNS -- Good progress was made seeding this year's dry edible bean crops in the United States during the past week, with considerable lost ground made up in North Dakota, Minnesota and Michigan. The soil moisture situation worsened in Michigan during the past week, with a greater percentage of land considered to have surplus moisture, Even so, dry edible bean producers made remarkable progress planting this year's crop, with seeding jumping to 28% complete, just behind the five-year average of 32% in the ground by this time of year and well ahead of the 17% sown by this time last year.
