Partial End to Poultry BanTOKYO - Jun 9/04 - SNS -- Japan relaxed its ban on poultry imports from the United States and will accept product from states which have not experienced any outbreaks of avian influenza. Japan banned all poultry imports from the United States on February 7 following the original outbreak of a milder form of avian influenza in Delaware. That ban will now only cover poultry produced in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and Texas.
