Larger Australian Pulse Crop SeenSYDNEY - Jun 8/04 - SNS -- This year's pulse crop harvest in Australia is expected to be slightly higher than last year, with the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) agreeing with industry forecasts total production will end up around 2.16 million metric tons (MT). In releasing its first pulse crop forecast for 2004, ABARE accepted numbers developed earlier this year by Pulse Australia. It realized, this will see field pea, lupin and fababean output increase; while chickpea production drops sharply and lentil output is pretty much unchanged from last year.
