SWP Sees Bigger Field Pea HarvestREGINA - Jun 7/04 - SNS -- Improved soil moisture conditions in western Canada are pointing to the chance average field pea yields will exceed 30 bushels or 1,800 pounds per acre, say traders with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool (SWP). Such an outcome could see this year's harvest end up closer to 2.6 million metric tons (MT) than the 2.475 million suggested by recent five-year average yields or the 2.52 million MT recently predicted by Agriculture Canada.
