AWB Invests in Asian Training CenterSYDNEY - Jun 4/04 - SNS -- The Australia Wheat Board (AWB) Limited and RMIT International University Vietnam (RMIT) will jointly create the "AWB - Centre of Excellence for Professional Development" to train bakers from all of Asia. Under the agreement, AWB will design and jointly develop a fully functional modern training facility on the RMIT Campus in Ho Chi Minh City, which will deliver training courses in conjunction with RMIT Vietnam in the development and promotion of Australian wheat-based products. The Centre will also allow the clients and customers of AWB to use the facility for commercial testing, evaluation and product development. This joint project is the first of its kind in the region. AWB will supply the machinery, equipment, expertise and product for its operation, while RMIT Vietnam will provide the venue and training staff to develop and deliver courses and award programs. This agreement is also a framework for a range of cooperative projects which may be identified by either party. The Centre in addition to providing specialized and award training in the area of wheat-based products will also to promote Australian wheat and other generic Australian grain products not only in Vietnam but the Asian region.
