Popcorn Use Grows in IndonesiaJAKARTA - May 19/04 - SNS -- Popcorn has enjoyed considerable growth in the Indonesian snack food market in recent years, according to a report on the sector prepared by the U.S. agricultural attache here. The value of U.S. exports of popcorn increased steadily from 1998 ($176,000) to 2003 ($755,000). Data from the U.S. Bureau of Census reveals exports during the 2002-03 marketing year totalled 1,819 metric tons (MT), down from their peak of 2,292 MT in 2001-02.
