Uzbekistan Hopes for Improved Cotton Harvest
ANKARA - May 19/04 - SNS -- Cotton production should rebound this year in Uzbekistan in response to a projected increase in seeded area from 1.359 million to 1.362 million hectares and assuming a return to normal growing conditions.
However, this year's crop is getting off to a slow start because heavy rains delayed seeding across most of the country for at least a week.
