India's Cotton Harvest Revised UpwardNEW DELHI - May 13/04 - SNS -- Cotton production in India for the current season is believed to be closer to 16.6 million 170 kilogram bales of 2.82 million metric tons (MT). The latest numbers are a solid improvement on the 2.74 million MT originally forecast by the U.S. agricultural attache here; and compare favorably to the 2.3 million MT harvested in 2002-03 and the 2001-02 crop of 2.68 million MT.
