Modest Increase in Other CitrusWASHINGTON - May 12/04 - SNS -- Production of other types of citrus fruits is slightly higher than last year, judging from the latest USDA crop report. Increases in grapefruit, tangerine and temple production were largely offset by declines in lemon and tangelo output. The forecast of the 2003-04 U.S. grapefruit crop is 2.12 million tons, up 1% from the April 1 forecast and 3% above the previous season. Florida's grapefruit forecast, at 40.5 million boxes (1.72 million tons), is up 1% from the previous month and 5% above last season's final utilization.
