Illinois Grain Prices at Country ElevatorSPRINGFIELD - May 11/04 - SNS -- Corn, soybean, wheat and sorghum bids compiled by the USDA and Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators
This is Tuesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA
and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Tuesday afternoon. Soybean prices
rebounded after yesterday's sharp losses. Many traders evened positions
ahead of tomorrow morning's USDA Supply Demand report. The USDA will not
only report on old crop carryout figures, but they will also issue their first
estimates for new crop grains.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were mostly steady to 1 cent higher at 2.76-2.85. Soybean bids were 9 to
13 cents higher at 10.21-10.31.
In Central Illinois country grain elevators quoted shelled corn bids were
steady to 2 cents higher at 2.81-2.90. Soybean bids were 7 to 13 cents
higher at 10.15-10.37.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were steady to 2 cents
higher at 2.86-2.99. Soybean bids were 9 to 15 cents higher at 10.30-10.46.
Wheat bids were mostly 5 to 7 cents lower at 3.50 to 3.71. Milo bids were
mostly 1 to 3 cents higher at 2.56-2.92.
